What Is Precision Stamping - and How Does It Differ from Conventional?

Stamping and precision stamping sound interchangeable, but the requirements behind them are very different. Here is the dividing line.
Die Clearance Is the Starting Point
The thickness-to-clearance relationship determines burr height and edge quality; precision work demands tightly controlled clearances.
Equipment and Control
Servo presses and closed-loop feeds hold stroke and position; this is what allows tolerances of a few hundredths of a millimeter.
Inspection Closes the Loop
Precision is only real if it is measured. Projectors, CMM and full traceability are standard, not optional.
